What I love about this photo is the story behind it. Two months prior to their wedding, I headed out to Langley, where they wedding was taking place, to location scout for some portrait locations. We found some great spots, and one of the most promising ones was this big field with long burn grass.
Come wedding day, we decided to head out early and check out the spots I picked out again. It had rained the night before and I wanted to see how wet the spots were to see if we could still use them. Rolling up to the first spot with the long burnt grass, we were in for a shock. The grass had been cut and there was nothing there anymore.
With that, we headed off to another spot nearby which was a mulch farm, with rolling green grass. When we arrived, we were in for another shock, the grass had just been harvested, there was just dirt left. We drove around for a little bit, only to end up back at the mulch farm to find this Christmas Tree farm. It was still summer and the trees weren’t that big yet, but I thought the leading lines could still work out so that was what we went with. Come portrait time, we pull up to the Christmas tree farm and made some magic!
