This photo here is as much about the moment as it is about textures. I don’t really get shoe shots anymore, but if I see the bride putting on her shoes I’ll be sure to get some snaps.
For this shot I decided to shoot from the top down. Theres a wall behind the chair, and I believe next to that was the entrance to the room. If I recall the rooms lights were off. There is a window, starting from the floor on the brides left that is providing some beautiful soft light for this photo.
I love how the light interacts with the free flowing layers of the brides dress. Often times for photos, one of the bride’s maids or the brides mom will insist on tussling the brides dress, but theres really no need unless its a shot focused on the dress itself. One last note is that a good black and white photo should have as close as possible, 100% pure white, and 100% pure black. You see the white on the dress on the right side of the frame and the black at the top of the photo here.
