When Anna and Chris first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited as they were planning a wedding at Brock House Restaurant which is one of my favourite venues in the city!
I turned up at Fairmont Pacific Rim, where Anna and her bridesmaids were getting ready, and it was so relaxed, because everyone was in a good mood! Chris would later show up in his traditional Scottish highlands dress for a quick first look together before heading out for portraits.
For portraits the couple had scheduled a genius amount of time so we got to go to two locations! We first went to Granville Island and then we headed off to Pacific Spirit Park. I’ve shot a bunch of engagement shoots at Pacific Spirit Park before, but never a wedding party so I was pretty excited to get some work done in there.
The ceremony took place in the Brock House garden which a beach front view and the North Shore mountains in the distant background. To finish off the ceremony Anna and Chris incorporated a traditional Scottish Quaich where they shared their first drink of whiskey together as a married couple. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then the celebrations began.
My favourite thing about photographing Anna and Chris' wedding is just seeing their relationship together. The love and excitement that they have for each other is like that of a couple that just started dating. Throughout the whole day they looked so happy just to be in each others presence which is really inspiring.
